SAMHITA & MAULIK SIDDHANT

       Ayurveda Samhita Siddhanta is one of the most important department of Ayurveda which deals with the Basic Principles and philosophy of this ancient science. It deals with the divine language Samskrit that helps us to read and understand the classical textbooks of Ayurveda. It contributes to the academic structure in three sections.

Ayurveda Samhita – The classical textbooks of Ayurveda i.e. Samhitas are dealt with in this section. Different Samhitas are introduced and taught to the Ayurveda Scholars so as to make them familiar with Ayurveda, to build up the basic foundation to this Science which helps them to apply it practically.

Ayurveda Siddhanta – This section deals with the Philosophical Principles mainly from the Vedas, Upanishads, Darshanas etc that has been inculcated into Ayurveda. It deals with the Basic principles of Ayurveda and its Practical Utility.

Samskrit – Learning of Samskrit language is a must in Ayurveda curriculum because all the important textbooks of Ayurveda were written in this divine language. To read and understand Ayurvedic classical texts with their proper meaning, understanding of Samskrit language is a must.
